| How much do Virtual Tours cost? Since we allow for such a high level of customization, we bid each project on the needs of that client. We must see those parameters in order to give fair pricing on a project. When we have compared pricing with our comparable competitors, we honestly feel that we offer a far better value on a high quality virtual tour. You can see base pricing for our Standard Tours here. |
| How long does the process of creating a tour take? It really depends on the complexity of the tour design. If it is one of our “Standard Virtual Tour” designs, the process can take as little as 7-10 days after we shoot it for you to have it working (assuming the client gives us quick feedback on approvals). If it is a more complex design of a custom virtual tour, then it totally depends on the feature sets we are using. |
Why do some virtual tours make me feel sick, like I am in a fish bowl? |
| Is it a Real Virtual Tour or a Slide Show? The tours we produce are not comparable to other "Virtual Tours" seen in other sites. Our tours capture more that just a slide show sweeping in or out (Ken Burns effect). Your guests visiting the site will be able to control what they see, where they are, and when they want to move to any particular room or area of the tour. A guest may want to see what is through a door or a window or move with ease from place to place. They can do this from a feature called a "hotspot". Whether it may be a Golf Course, House, College, Bed and Breakfast, Restaurant, Facility, Showroom, Country Club, or what ever it may be. Real Virtual Tours allow the viewer to gain a great logistical understanding of where they are in the tour. |
| What are hotspots? Hotspots are clickable areas within swf. files that create an interactive way to display deeper information on any environment. This allows the viewer to move to another location by merely clicking on a tinted door, on your logo, or a titled direction. This is one feature that separates us from normal so called "Virtual Tours". |
| How do WE work together? After we discuss your needs, we will make a proposal that includes costs and a rough outline of what the project will entail. Once that is agreed upon, that outline may get developed into a composition design and a storyboard. We then schedule a convenient time to come and shoot at your location. We will post your tour on our server in a client specific folder in which only you have access during the building stage. This allows you to circulate that URL internally for further input. Once all the pieces are put together and fully scripted, we then electronically deliver the files via FTP for your hosting company. If you choose for us to host the site and manage it, we will then post the site live after your final approval. |
| What Platform will be used for your Vitual Tour? We have found that Adobe® Flash® Player far exceeds any other Player Platform. The use of vector graphics combined with program code allows Flash files to be smaller, or streams to use less bandwidth, than the corresponding bitmaps or video clips. Compared to other plug-ins such as Java and QuickTime VR, the Flash Player has a smaller install size and quicker download time. Adobe® Flash® Player produces the most optimal results due to these features. |
| What’s the Difference between JAVA, QTVR , and FLASH? JAVA is built into the operating system of most every personal computer used today and therefore JAVA content does not require any additional software download to view it. However, JAVA has traditionally not worked well on MAC computers and is very limited with user interactions and virtual tours. QTVR stands for QuickTime Virtual Reality and is a technology that creates a more integrated experience than JAVA and can include sound. QTVR is free software download for all platforms and preinstalled into every MAC as well as some Windows machines on delivery. However, some users do not want to download software they are not familiar with. FLASH content reaches 99% of Internet viewers. Adobe® Flash® Player is the world's most widespread software platform, used by over 2 million professionals and reaches 99% of Internet-enabled desktops in mature markets as well as a wide range of devices. | Does the tour go on my website or yours? Some of our clients will host their new virtual tour on their own servers, but we also have many clients that we service their entire website and/or just their virtual tour. |
| What Preparation is needed for a Real Estate Virtual Tour? Most likely your Vitual Tour vendor must be a member of Trend® To make your experience as pleasant and successful as possible, we have included some suggestions of what can be done before our photographer arrives. • No cars in the driveway or parked in front of the house • Garage doors should be closed • Hide remote controls and put newspapers and magazines away • Turn on all the ceiling lights • Have pets locked up in another room and hide cat scratch posts, pet beds and food dishes • Try to have the backyard as tidy as possible, toys and such should be hidden • In the kitchen, make sure the counters are as clear as possible • Try to minimize the amount of people that are home • Try to minimize clutter |
